About Apprentice Training (Introduction)
The Apprentices Act, 1961 was enacted with the objective of regulating the programme of training of apprentices in the industry by utilizing the facilities available therein for imparting on-the-job training. The Act makes it obligatory for employers in specified industries to engage apprentices in designated/Optional trades to impart Apprenticeship Training on the job in industry to youth and person to develop skilled manpower for the industry.
The Apprentices Act, 1961 was enacted with the prime objective to utilize fully the facilities available in industry for imparting practical training with a view to meeting the requirements of skilled manpower for industry. Initially, the Act covered the apprenticeship training for the trade Apprentices and subsequently amended in 1973, 1986 , 2014 and 2019 to bring the Graduates, Technician, Technician (Vocational) and Optional Trade Apprentices respectively under its purview.
Objective
Apprentices Act, 1961 was enacted with the following objectives :--
- To regulate the programme of training of apprentices in the industry so as to conform to the prescribed syllabus, period of training etc.as laid down by the Central Apprenticeship Council; and
- To utilize the facilities available in industry for imparting practical training with a view to meeting the requirements of skilled manpower for industry.

The office of the deputy Apprenticeship Advisor has entrusted the six Assistance Apprenticeship Advisor offices under the supervision of Assistant Apprenticeship Advisor/Principal to implement the Apprenticeship Training Scheme in the jurisdiction of Delhi district wise are as under:-
